We are located about eleven miles west of Downtown Chicago, 8517 West and about 2600 North, a little more than one block west of Cumberland Avenue (1st avenue is the same street as Cumberland and in River Grove it is called Thatcher Avenue). We are four miles north of the Eisenhower (290) Expressway (1st Avenue North Exit) and just over three miles south of the Kennedy (90) Expressway (Cumberland South exit). We are directly behind 8515 W. Grand Avenue which is a State Farm office and directly west of the River Grove Bowl.

Amenities:

• Free parking - (first ten spaces from our building on EITHER side of the parking lot or in the abandoned Bowling Alley parking lot directly east of our lot and park toward the back nearer our building.
• Free coffee - Classroom has free coffee, tea and filtered water service. In addition, a microwave and small fridge are available for your convenience. There are many fast food restaurants within two blocks to one mile of our facility.

Caution! - If you use MapQuest, you will be directed to turn on a street called Auxplains. THIS IS NOT CORRECT!

Kennedy Expressway - We are about 3.5 miles South of the Cumberland exit from I-94.

Eisenhower Expressway - We are 4 miles North of the First Avenue exit from I-290.

I-294 from northern suburbs - You should exit at Irving Park road East (BE CAREFUL: YOU MUST BE IN THE 2 EXTREME RIGHT LANES BEFORE IRVING PARK ROAD TO EXIT) and travel about 1.5 miles to Cumberland and turn right (Grand will be about 2 miles to the south).

(ALTERNATIVE: Exit Irving Park Rd West and immediately get to the left turn lane to turn left at Mannheim Ave then take Mannheim 2 miles South and turn LEFT (east) on Grand Ave and go 2 miles to our location which is on the South side of Grand avenue. Going this way eliminates the possibility of getting stuck behind a train at tracks located just north of Grand avenue).

I-294 from southern suburbs - You should exit I-290 West (toward Rockford) and then exit on 20 EAST (Lake street). If you take Lake Street east about 3.5 miles you will intersect First Avenue and should turn left heading north and travel about 3 miles to Grand avenue and then turn left.

(ALTERNATIVE: As you approach the Aurora ramp on 294, stay to the right and exit at Roosevelt Rd EAST (just past the Aurora I-88 ramp) and take Roosevelt to Mannheim Rd LEFT (about 2 miles west from 294 Exit). You will head North about 4.4 miles then take a RIGHT on Grand Ave and proceed 2 miles East to our location. This alternative avoids the ramp backup at 290 Rockford West as well as the normally heavy traffic on either Lake Street or North Avenue heading east.

I-88 AND 355 from SouthWest suburbs (Naperville, Aurora) - Take I-88 East and Exit 355 North (this goes a little slow, but moves). Take 355 North until it ends and then move onto the I-290 going EAST for about 5 miles taking the York Rd EXIT (be ready to move over to the extreme right to make this exit) and then turn Right at the light (heading North) and travel about 3 miles until you get to Grand Avenue. Turn Right at Grand Ave (heading East) and take it all the way to our location (about 5 miles).

NOTE: DO NOT TAKE I-290 EAST BEYOND THE YORK RD EXIT. (OR NORTH AVE/LAKE STREET IF YOU MISS YORK) ON A WEEKDAY OR YOU WILL SIT FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES TRYING TO EXIT AT 1ST AVENUE.

GOING HOME AFTER CLASS: - Reverse the route you took for going North on I-294. To go South on I-294 we recommend taking 1st Avenue to I-290 West until you see the signs for 294 South (there is no easy or quick way back to 294 South in weekday rush hour).

To return to 355 and/or I-88 we strongly recommend Grand Avenue West about 7 miles until you get to Lake Street (Route 20). You will not turn onto Lake St but rather be in one of the two left lanes (BUT NOT THE LEFT TURN LANE) and go straight, it is an entrance ramp that will take you to I-290 West toward ROCKFORD. After entering I-290 West, get over to the right lane after a couple of miles as you will see signs to Exit onto 355 South up ahead; just follow the exit and it will take you all the way South to I-80 or you can exit to I-88 East or West, as you may require.

Public Transportation:

TRAIN SERVICE AT CONVENIENT TIMES IS AVALABLE TO OUR RIVER GROVE LOCATION ON WEEKDAYS ON THE METRA MILWAUKEE ROAD WEST LINE. WE ARE ONE BLOCK SOUTH AND 1.5 BLOCKS WEST OF THE RIVER GROVE TRAIN STATION.

1. You must always wear a mask while in the building and classroom. Please bring your own mask, Dohrn will not supply them.
2. To limit surfaces, no tables will be set up in the classroom and chairs will be distanced six feet from each other. Bring your own writing service if you wish (small personal foldable table (no larger area than 2 feet by 2 feet) or your own clipboard. Classes are limited to 27 students maximum and is based on the square footage of the classroom allowing each student 36 square feet of space.
3. If you want to highlight your book, bring your own highlighter.
4. Only two students at a time in the breakroom will be allowed.

Turn at Riverside Drive to East side of Route 83 and take frontage road about 3 blocks south to 909 south (a two story brick office building).

ONLY 2.3 MILES NORTH OF OAKBROOK MALL ON ROUTE 83.

First floor, front entrance turn left at hallway go to Suite 100. NOTE: For ALL weekend classes, use side entrance on North side of the building

This Fixed classroom facility will comfortable accommodate 48 students. If you have any questions on a week day about this location you can contact our office at 847-455-1130. Pease refer to the amenities and directions offered, below:

• Free parking - Huge lot with plentiful parking surrounds this office building. No parking where there are reserved signs and NO PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING. Parking is also allowed on the east side of frontage road in front of the building.
• No Beverages or Vending Available:Please bring your own snacks and drinks.
• A microwave and refrigerator are available for student use, so feel free to use them.

From The South or Far South Suburbs: Take I-294 North to Roosevelt Road West (alternative is Exit Ogden Avenue West) and proceed to Kingery Highway (Route 83) North, then turn Right at Riverside Drive and then a hard right for Frontage Road. Proceed to 909 South (a two story brick office building).

From East/Downtown Chicago: Take I-290 West and Exit Roosevelt Road heading West (veer toward 294 Indiana and stay to the right lane taking ramp to Roosevelt Road). Exit Roosevelt Road onto Route 83 North and drive about 1 mile North, then turn Right at Riverside Drive and then a hard right for Frontage Road. Proceed to 909 South (a two story brick office building).

From the North: One alternative is to take Route 83 South, then turn Left at Riverside Drive and then a hard right for Frontage Road. Proceed to 909 South (a two story brick office building).
