Dohrn Insurance Training,
Inc.
was founded in July 1987 by current CEO and founder Doug Dohrn.
Mr. Dohrn entered the insurance business as a salesman for a large
eastern life insurance carrier in 1979. During
the early 1980's, Doug was the national sales and product trainer for a small
fraternal life insurer headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
In July of 1987, Mr. Dohrn began Dohrn Insurance Training with only two certified pre-licensing courses, no clients and an empty computer. Slowly he began to add courses and clientele and within five years Dohrn Insurance Training, Inc. was a leader in providing pre-licensing and continuing education courses in Illinois. Today, Dohrn Insurance Training, Inc. is thriving on a local and national level. Locally, thousands of Illinois insurance producers and accountants avail themselves of Dohrn’s fine self study and seminar training programs. Doug Dohrn has over twenty
years experience in the insurance and ad insurance training fields.
He completed his Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University of Chicago in
1977 and followed that with earning a Master of Business Administration in 1985,
also from DePaul University. Mr.
Dohrn also attended the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. Doug Dohrn has been a faculty member of the Loyola University and current Northern Illinois University Certified Financial Planner Certificate Program since its inception in 1996 and was the program’s primary instructor for the required course of Financial Planning and Insurance.
