A new insurance producer law which is effective January 1, 2010 makes a three hour classroom ethics course mandatory for license renewal.  This rule says that a producer must complete 24 hours of continuing education credit every two years and that AT LEAST 3 OF THOSE HOURS MUST BE FROM A CLASSROOM ETHICS COURSE, certified by the Illinois Department of Insurance.

There is no exam requirement for an ethics course.  You will meet this requirement by simply attending at least one three hour ethic classroom course, within a two year period, prior to your producer license renewal date.
